Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation helps patients achieve a sense of calm using a safe oral medication prescribed for you by Dr. McIntosh. Typically, you’ll take your medication one to two hours before arriving for your appointment. By the time you arrive—with the help of a responsible friend or family member—you’ll already feel relaxed and ready for your procedure. If needed, we can also administer nitrous oxide to help you feel even more comfortable. After your procedure, your friend or family member will drive you home and stay with you until the effects of your medication wear off.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Better known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide helps us enhance patient comfort easily. You’ll simply inhale the nitrous oxide and oxygen mixture through a special face mask while Dr. McIntosh and her team work on improving your smile. During your appointment, you’ll feel relaxed and confident as we complete your treatment. What’s more, the effects of nitrous oxide wear off quickly. Within minutes of removing the mask, you’ll feel well enough to continue with your day.
