General Dentistry For Keller

Family smiling at camera As your general dentist, Dr. Sheri McIntosh and her entire staff at Distinguished Dental are committed to providing you and each member of your family with dental care that is professional, compassionate and personal. General dentistry encompasses everything your teeth and gums need to stay healthy, including routine oral health checkups and thorough cleanings. Moreover, general dentistry plays an important role in helping you maintain your overall good health. As the gateway to the body, your mouth—and the health of your teeth, gums and other oral soft tissue—are directly connected to your total well-being. Therefore, to ensure your oral health and general health, Distinguished Dental provides a comprehensive menu of services including:

Dental Checkups

Foremost among our services is the dental checkup. In keeping with the recommendation of the American Dental Association, Dr. McIntosh would like to see you and your family at least twice each year for checkups, which include the all-important cleaning and exam.

These dental checkups also provide our patients with a convenient opportunity to ask questions about how to keep their smiles looking and feeling their best. We're always here to provide you and every member of your family with invaluable information regarding your oral health, including how the status of your smile can affect your overall wellness.

Other General Dentistry Services

Beyond the dental checkup, general dentist Dr. McIntosh and her team can provide you with most all of the services you need to maintain your healthy and happy smile. Cavities, for instance, are repaired with tooth-colored fillings. Gone are the days of unsightly amalgam fillings that effectively repaired your tooth, but left your smile with a dark spot. Tooth-colored fillings, which are made of composite resin materials, are equally strong and durable as amalgam fillings, and provide the added advantage of blending in seamlessly with the existing shade of your teeth. Moreover, tooth-colored fillings require less tooth preparation than amalgam fillings, and therefore retain more of your natural tooth structure.

And although a filling may be one of the most common procedures performed at Distinguished Dental to preserve a smile, it is certainly not the only. With a root canal, we can eliminate the infection inside a tooth and hopefully prevent that infection from spreading or necessitating tooth extraction. Dentures and partials and crowns and bridges are reliable options for rebuilding smiles that have lost teeth due to decay, gum disease or traumatic injury. And if any of these procedures make you anxious, then don’t worry—we offer sedation dentistry to help you relax and have the dental care you need.

If it's been more than six months since your last general dentistry checkup, there's never been a better time to take the first step in the right direction with a checkup at Distinguished Dental. Dr. McIntosh happily welcomes families from communities in Keller, Fort Worth, and beyond.
